The super moon, and the ancient comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, dubbed the &quot;comet of the century&quot;, have crossed path over the clouded sky of Gran Canaria on Thursday (October 17).The C/2023 A3 is a long-period comet that only returns to the inner solar system once every 80,000 years.The so-called super moon, also known as Hunter&#x27;s Moon, was the largest full moon of the year 2024 thanks to its proximity to Earth.The two events were visible on the same night from the Pico de las Nieves, in the Canary Islands.The comet was first identified in 2023 by observers at China&#x27;s Tsuchinshan, or &quot;Purple Mountain,&quot; Observatory and an ATLAS (Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System) telescope in South Africa, with its official naming honouring both observatories. - report from Reuters
