Have you been swept up in the glitzy world of K-drama romcom 'The Fabulous'? Then surely you must have an eye on SHINee’s Choi Min-ho (more popularly known by his mononym Minho), who was cast in the lead as freelance retoucher Ji Woo-min opposite Chae Soo-bin’s Pyo Ji-eun. With his striking features and trim build, this multi-talented singer, performer, and actor has been making his fans swoon since his idol debut in 2008.
He began acting not too long after, starring in KBS2’s drama special 'Pianist' before moving on to his first lead role in 'To the Beautiful You', a Korean small screen adaptation of the Japanese manga Hana Kimi. Playing the role of a high jump medalist encouraged Min-ho to train with a former national athlete for almost two months.
To fulfill his mandatory military service obligations, Min-ho joined the Marine Corps and garnered praise for not availing of early discharge to participate in defense drills. The 31-year-old star resumed group activities with SHINee after his release and will be holding his fan meet at the SM Mall of Asia arena later this January—we hope you’ve managed to score your tickets!
Given the nature of his profession, staying in shape is one of Min-ho’s priorities. He was slimmer in his younger years, which was why fans were shocked and impressed to see how much muscle he gained later on. Whether it be lifting weights or running—he’s strong enough to go from what looks like 0 to 100 on the treadmill—Min-ho is a bit of a beast in the gym. Maintaining his well-defined abs is no easy feat; exercises such as push-ups, bench presses, and crunches definitely factor in his routine. Together with his fellow SHINee members, Min-ho demonstrated some easy at-home workouts in an interview with 1TheK Originals’ Prison, sharing his favorite stretch: “You clasp your hands behind your head and simply stretch like this [to the side]. If you do this, you will stretch your external oblique abdominal muscle.”

He dances a lot, too, and plays sports such as basketball, soccer, and golf, just to name a few. He came onboard as a mentor for MBC’s reality show 'Extreme Debut: Wild Idol' in 2021, taking over the physical strength training program together with former Turbo group member Kim Jong-kook.
