Joshua gathered his squad, the boys of Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series – Paolo Gumabao, Josh Colet, Young JV, Zeppi Borromeo, Gerard Acao, Marvin Yap, and Yogo Singh – to grant netizens’ special requests in Kapamilya Family Date Nights. The interactive benefit show is the 7th phase of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Isang Daan Sa Pagtutulungan” donation drive that aims to provide funds for food, clean water, as well as hygiene and home repair kits for families affected by Typhoon Odette. To open the night, the boys talked about the series and expressed how excited and thankful they are to join this big project. In the plot, Marvin, Gerard, and Zeppi comprised the ‘Carenderia Boys’ of the lively community where Narda (Jane De Leon) lives. These boys are big fans of Regina, the vlogger alter-ego of Valentina, both portrayed by Janella Salvador.Yogo dons the character of Jiro, the best friend of Ding played by Zaijian Jaranilla. He said he’s happy to be reunited with his fellow ex-child star and former classmate.Josh is a reporter in the story while Paolo plays Noah, the bad guy who will add conflict in Narda and Brian (Joshua Garcia)’s budding romance. Young JV, who plays Brian’s buddy, is grateful to be back at acting for the first time since the pandemic. He added that it feels great to be working with a happy cast. Everyone’s friendly and welcoming, and they make lock-in easier. As previously revealed, Joshua is Brian, a good cop and Narda’s love interest. The leading man expressed gratitude to the ABS-CBN bosses, as well as JRB Creative Production, for the continuous trust. He’s happy to be working on a big project following Viral Scandal.Near the end of the episode, the Kapamilya actors were asked which cast member they’d like to give a special ‘thank you’ message. Roommates Paolo and Josh thanked each other for making lock-in less lonely. The former is glad he always has someone to talk to, “Kasi ang daldal ko sa totoo lang lalo na sa gabi na wala akong kausap. So, Bro, thank you kasi lagi kang sumasabay sa daldalan natin.”Yogo expressed appreciation for Gerard, his father-figure on the set, “Parang gagabayan ako sa lahat. Siya ‘yung joker namin dito. Siya ‘yung nagbibigay-saya sa buong cast.”As roommates, Gerard and Zeppi thanked each other for the genuine concern. The latter mentioned his mom passed away last year, and Gerard always helps him through his grief, “’Pag nakikita niyang tulala ako at wala sa sarili, lagi niya akong chine-check.” Young JV also thanked his roommate LA Santos for the unlimited coffee.Meanwhile, Joshua started his piece by thanking their bosses and the whole cast and team. Then, he gave a special shout-out to Janella, thanking her for making bubble life a little more interesting. “Minsan ‘pag wala akong magawa, free day, nakikipag-bonding at nakikipag-usap lang ako with her,” he said.The boys made the night extra swoon-worthy with their special performances like their take on the trending “Paru-Paro G” Challenge. Yogo played the guitar as the others sang “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko.” Josh, who also has a background in theater, showcased his singing talent. Of course, we can count on Young JV to bring in some concert vibes.We also got a ‘kilig’ serenade from our ‘beber’ Joshua.
