Ever since “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” premiered more than two years ago, our weeknights have been charged with action and drama. However, as time goes by and its exhilarating narrative continues to unfold, it has also incorporated kilig and comedy to make the viewing experience of its avid audiences more delightful.

As the newest season and the newest chapter of the series commenced a couple of months ago, a new set of characters also brought in more fun and entertainment to the mix, which includes promising comedian James Caraan, who provides comic relief to the drama-laden arc of the Benito family through his portrayal of Badong, the well-off admirer of Andrea Brillantes’ character Fatima. 

And in this episode of Friday 5, here are the five scenes that show his intense desire for Fatima and how he tried to take advantage of their family’s situation just to have her.

Just when Fatima’s parents, Paeng (Michael de Mesa) and Gracia (Shamaine Buencamino), assumed that Badong came to the funeral of their firstborn, Caloy (Gio Alvarez), to express his condolences to them, he proved them wrong, for he swung by to collect their payment for the money that they owed him. This was after Fatima rejected his advances on her, which apparently upset him.

Badong then couldn’t help himself from watching Fatima as she prepared coffee for him while her parents tried to ask him for an extension of the deadline. He was initially firm on rejecting their request but suddenly had a change of heart upon seeing the pleading face of Fatima. Besides, he also tried to push himself on Fatima by telling Paeng that he could be the right fit to become their son-in-law, much to the disapproval of the whole Benito family.

He tried to gain their approval by offering to set aside their debts if they would allow Fatima to marry him, but to no avail, since aside from the fact that they’re not willing to give her up just like that, particularly to him, Fatima also vowed to find ways to earn money within two days not just to pay the money that they owed to him but also to get rid of him. 

Apart from his amusing banter with Fatima’s Uncle Nognog (Nonong Balinan), we also found it funny when he arrogantly told her, “Alam mo, Fatima, kapag ako naka-move on, huwag kang hahabol sa akin ah? Huwag kang maglalaway dahil makakalimutan din kita.” As Fatima called him on his way out of their house, Badong assumed that she had already changed her mind. But she actually just wanted him to take back the bouquet of flowers that he attempted to give her.

As Badong went back to the Benitos the following day to remind them about their agreement, Paeng tried to sell Tanggol’s watch to him. While he was initially shocked to see that it was authentic and luxurious, he went on to call it “class A” upon hearing from Paeng that it came from a suitor of Fatima and declined it. But catching sight of her pleading face again prompted him to change his mind and decide to take it in exchange for Php 7,000. 

However, instead of paying them, he told them that he would just diminish it from the total amount of their debt, to which the Benitos objected. Unfortunately, their pleas fell on deaf ears as Badong took the watch with him and insisted that he would take Fatima on a date.

And lastly, just when he was already excited for his “dream date” with Fatima the next day, we witnessed how Badong’s arrogance faded and was replaced by horror upon seeing the gun on Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) waist after he scoffed at him. His angas further disappeared when Tanggol handed to him the P30,000 payment from the Benitos and walked out of their house. He was, of course, disappointed since he’d rather go on a date with Fatima than get paid by them.
