Chiara Zambrano of ABS-CBN News and her crew joined the group of Glenn Valle, a fisherman from Masinloc, Zambales, in an attempt to reach Scarborough Shoal.

They have just docked back in the shores of Masinloc, a day after they were blocked by members of the Chinese coast guard.

Valle told ANC's Dateline Philippines that he was not at all scared when they left the shores and were blocked by Chinese coast guard boats on Thursday as this has already been the norm for them.

"Natural lang po ‘yun, ma’am. ‘Yun naman parati, nasanay na rin kami dahil yun ang ginagawa nila," he said.

Valle, who has been fishing for the last 16 years, agrees with Masinloc mayor Arsenia Lim's call to halt attempts to enter the disputed area and to shift to an alternative source of livelihood.

"Kung hindi naman tayo pwedeng bumalik dun, ma’am, e di dito muna, maghanap muna ng ibang hanapbuhay dito sa tabi [sa halip na] sa ganun yung mangyari, makikipaghabulan tayo sa kanila," he said.
