The coronavirus ward at the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila is almost full, an official said Thursday.

The hospital saw an increase in the admission of coronavirus patients with moderate to severe symptoms in the last 2 weeks, following relaxed pandemic lockdowns, said the chief of its adult infectious diseases division, Dr. Rontgene Solante.

San Lazaro Hospital allocated 65 beds for coronavirus patients. Fifty-two patients with the respiratory disease are currently admitted, he said.

"Malapit nang mapuno [ang COVID-19 ward]," Solante told ABS-CBN's TeleRadyo.

The hospital is still accepting patients, he said.

"As mush as possible, we have to accommodate them... Kawawa din ang pasyente kung ipalipat-lipat natin (they'll suffer if we keep transferring them)," said the doctor.
