In San Mateo, Isabela, the mung bean is more than just an ingredient for savory viands, it can be for desserts too.

Featured in their Balatong Festival are renditions of mung bean as desserts.

Locals and tourists lined up for mung bean ice cream, mung bean buchi, and squash-and-mung-bean polvoron.

Aside from products made from 'balatong', vegetables and rice cakes were also sold during the festival.
