MANILA—The proposal to change the lyrics of the Philippine national anthem was met with raised eyebrows by some celebrities.
Vice Ganda, Bianca Gonzales, Ogie Diaz and Jim Paredes took to social media to air their opinion on Senator Vicente Sotto III's proposal to revise "Lupang Hinirang."
E kung palitan na lang yung last line ng national anthem ng ‘Ang matraffic ng dahil sa’yo’??!! Mas keri ba?
Paredes and Diaz said they believe the government should instead focus on other issues.
Sotto on Wednesday said he wants to tweak the lyrics of "Lupang Hinirang" to give it a more positive meaning and is mulling filing a resolution to address this.
