They say that showbiz couples rarely make it to forever, most of them heading to splitsville just after a few months. But Gelli De Belen and Ariel Rivera, married for two decades and counting, belong to the rare group of showbiz lovers who remain strong amidst the pressure and blinding spotlight of the industry. Although, the happily married couple have also had their fair share of controversies in past including issues of jealousy, given that Ariel was once hailed as one of his generation’s biggest heartthrobs.Gelli admitted that, between her and Ariel, she is the one who often gets jealous but she is not the type who confronts her husband about it; unless the latter goes out of line and she feels her patience being pushed to her limits. Nonetheless, the last time she got jealous was a long time ago.Gelli and Ariel are blessed with two sons, Joaquin, 20 and Julio, 18. Gelli shared that his two good-looking young men are doing fine living in Canada under the care of Ariel’s family. Gelli admitted that she and Ariel longs for their kids each day but looking at the bright side, being empty nesters has made them closer.Joaquin wants to become a pilot and took up Aviation to pursue his dreams while Julio is studying Kinesiology, the study of human and non-human body movements.The 45-year-old actress revealed that her sons are already into the dating phase and she sees no problem with it. She even requested Joaquin to send her photos of him with his girlfriend but Gelli is not the type of mother who scrutinizes the people close to her sons.
