Oozing with overconfidence but with a loyal heart, Poseidon (Pepe Herrera) is one of our favorite characters to watch in the Kapamilya action-drama series The Iron Heart. We laugh out loud whenever he gets so clingy with Apollo aka Tisoy (Richard Gutierrez) or when he acts like the hunk of their unit in Tatsulok. He’s funny even when not trying. So, today, Kapamilya Toplist would like to acknowledge the amusement he brings via this video montage.

We felt Poseidon and Apollo’s friendship blooming in our gut just on their first meeting. We just knew a solid bond was about to form when they became roommates and Poseidon hilariously thought he can bully the recruit. But he ended up shrinking to Apollo’s intimidating stance and fixing the latter’s hair. He mimicked a martial arts pose to save himself from embarrassment but only to look like a joke to his new friend.

Even amidst danger, Poseidon can make things appear light-hearted like when he tagged along with Apollo in Delos. He was so clingy Apollo reacted, “Nai-in love ka na ba sa akin? Parang obsessed ka na sa’kin?” LOL!

A lot has happened in Delos. Their friendship even grew more solid when they joined forces in destroying Priam (Albert Martinez)’s laboratory and saving the abducted young scientists. As plotted, he tricked the bad guys by posing as a hiker and scaring them of a bad spirit roaming in the forest.

It was also when Poseidon discovered Apollo’s covert mission. Although hurt by the lies, he remained loyal to Apollo, telling him, “Kahit ang dami mong atraso sa’kin, hindi pa rin kita matiis” as he saved him from Damon (Ramon Christopher). Funny, their confrontation looked like a married couple’s fight with intense ‘batuhan’ and ‘sigawan.’

But when he liked the feeling of doing a good deed, Poseidon hugged Apollo and vowed, “Hindi ko alam kung ano 'yang ninja code na sinumpaan mo pero palalampasin ko muna. Simula ngayon, boss na kita for life.” Apollo made the scene funnier by inserting his “In-love ka na sa akin” punchline. Poseidon pressed that he has a half-German girlfriend, to which Apollo replied, “Half-shepherd?” Isn’t it adorable how the sidekick brings out the hero’s humor?

Poseidon loves to show off his ‘abs’ for laughs, in a shirtless suit. Then, he’d exaggeratedly fix his hair with a small comb that he keeps in his pocket. His overconfidence cracked us up from when he was abstractedly plotting a big mission to when his team arrived at the port and clashed with Eros (Jake Cuenca).

In every episode, we look forward to Poseidon’s banter with his teammates in their hideout. There was a scene where he tried to convince them to take on good deeds as ‘criminals with a heart.’ But his comrades only laughed off the idea. Then, he welcomed Tisoy back at their place one morning, saying, “Umaga na ah! Bakit ngayon ka lang? Uwi ba ‘to ng disenteng lalaki?” He handed him the broom and sat on the couch like he is the boss.
