Lauded for its modern, gripping action that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, The Iron Heart continues to enjoy a strong following. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we highlight its main actor Richard Gutierrez and his badass, heart-stopping scenes.

Richard’s character as Apollo works as a secret agent under the country’s elite crime investigation unit, and that means chest-thumping training and to-the-death battles. The video opens with Apollo’s hardcore preparations for his mission to topple down the Tatsulok syndicate group, a member of which killed his father.

He managed to infiltrate the bottom of the Tatsulok realm – inside the jail. He faced some of the country’s worst criminals. As plotted, he was attacked by Tatsulok members in what seemed like a surprise test of his eligibility to be one of them.

He penetrated the gang' hideout, ushering us viewers into one hell of an action-packed ride. Once inside Tatsulok, he wasted no time in discovering the mob’s dirtiest secrets as well as obstructing their nefarious plans. His first covert mission was to stop a supposed mall bombing incident. He took the explosive from Sol (Mark Oblea), who died by falling off the building amid their brawl.

Taking on a mission that put his mettle to the test, he armed Priam (Albert Martinez)'s helicopter with a bomb. An explosion shook the underworld. However, it was Priam’s son Jason (Lance Carr) who died in the attempted assassination.

Another top-notch action in the series is the Apollo versus Eros (Jake Cuenca) fight where they competed over smuggled goods, leading to a gritty showdown that involved rapid punches and high falls.

One of his biggest acts of sabotage was destroying Priam’s laboratory in Delos where the abducted young scientists are forced to formulate a serum for the growth of farming bugs. This would cripple the farmers’ living and turn them into Priam’s slaves. To save the scientists and farmers, Apollo fought Damon (Ramon Christopher)’s men and killed the latter using the exact serum the scientists formulated. Then, he burned down the laboratory. These he managed to execute all through Poseidon (Pepe Herrera)’s help.

Apollo then masquerades as a staff in a spa salon to uncover the filthy secrets of Athernity Beauty owned by businesswoman and Tatsulok member Athena (Emmanuelle Vera). This was personal since his aunt Delia (Ana Marin) was one of the clients schemed by Athernity’s fake beauty products infused with a deadly serum. He and Poseidon caused panic inside the building to gather evidence in the main laboratory.

Eros entered the laboratory and sensed that the snitch was hiding in there. “Face me like a man,” he said. Apollo, with his identity concealed, answered the challenge, which sparked off a well-choreographed gun match. Eros was trapped under a tall steel rack that Apollo toppled over using sheer force.

The gentlemen trended online thanks to their gritty confrontation in a warehouse where they forced each other to confess their identities as agents. The result was a roller coaster brawl with breathtaking agility and tangible brutality. It commenced with an exciting gun match until Apollo ran out of bullets. With no weapon other than his sheer strength, he attacked Eros, who managed to regain his stance, building up an immensely satisfying violence. The scene was so crisp and modern, and thrilling, especially when Apollo took out his knife. However, he decided to spare Eros and they joined forces in their next mission to stop Adonis (Ryan Eigenmann)’s bombing attacks, although there was no official confirmation that they are both agents. They just agreed to work together for the common good.

Apollo was caught in Adonis’ trap. But, no retreat! He managed to fight Adonis’ army and escape a series of explosions and eventually kill him after a brutal showdown. On a side note, the camera work and production design added to the impact of the Apollo versus Adonis clash.
