Valentine’s Day would be a lot sweeter for Kit Thompson as he recently admitted his relationship with up-and-coming actress Ana Jalandoni. In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, the hunk actor opened up about love and romance, and what he prefers to receive on Heart’s Day.

As Kit matures through the years, he also gains more wisdom about keeping a relationship, one of which is to never depend on other people’s timeline. He used to give himself deadlines in the love department but realized he’s not supposed to give in to the pressure.

“I guess ‘yung traditional beliefs about getting into a relationship and settling down, they seem to have a time frame. It doesn’t work that way because you have to think of your partner also, where your partner is in life, and what your partner wants to do.”

He added, “I don’t believe in the ‘dapat ‘pag ganitong edad, ganyan na.’ For me, when you’re both ready, then, do it. If not, enjoy it and take it easy. There’s no need to rush. There’s no time limit. It’s all imaginary.”

For Kit, the color of love is bright red, meaning it’s supposed to be passionate. Asked what traditional V-Day gift he prefers, he went for a card with personalized message, “Kasi hindi naman ako mahilig sa flowers and too much chocolates. At saka ‘yung thoughtfulness ng message ang hindi mo mabibili.”

He also revealed his favorite term of endearment. “Sa partner ko, ang tawagan namin is ‘love’ kasi obviously we love each other. Parang ang gasgas na ng ‘baby,’ eh. Love sounds sweet.”

On being friends with an ex, Kit believes it depends on the situation and how the relationship ended. But in general, he sees no problem with that, “I honestly think it’s okay kasi at one point in life nagmahalan naman kayo.”

He added, “If you can’t be friends with your ex, learn to forgive. Para sa’yo din ‘yun. That’s for your peace of mind din.”
