<div style="line-height:1.5"><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1771751112129UAAP 88 WVB ADMU vs. UP- UP-9966.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">University of the Philippines against Ateneo de Manila University in UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball. <em>UAAP Media.</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — University of the Philippines outlasted Ateneo de Manila University to complete a reverse sweep in UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball and snap an eight-year losing streak to its Katipunan rival.</p><p>The Fighting Maroons prevailed, 17-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-14, on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City for their second win of the season, with Irah Jaboneta leading the charge.</p><p>Jaboneta finished with 14 points, eight digs, and seven receptions. Nina Ytang topscored with 15 points along with two digs, while Fina Ali impressed in her debut with 13 points and one dig.</p><p>&quot;We couldn&#x27;t really find the tempo that we have early in the game. But we found a way to play our own game, and when we did, we became more effective,” said UP head coach Fabio Menta, whose squad improved to 2-0.</p><p>Casiey Dongallo also contributed 13 points and seven receptions, while Julia de Leon dished out 12 excellent sets, helping UP secure its first win over Ateneo since Season 80 in 2018.</p><p>The Fighting Maroons had to dig deep in the deciding set to pull it off.</p><p>In the said frame, UP appeared in control at 9-6, but Ateneo rallied to force a 14-all deadlock.</p><p>Ali then delivered a crosscourt hit to give UP a 15-14 match point before Ytang sealed the two-hour, 32-minute marathon with a block on Zey Pacia.</p><p>On the other hand, JLo Delos Santos, returning from a torn ACL last season, led the Blue Eagles with 21 points and 11 digs, but Ateneo remained winless after two matches.</p><p>Rookie Ana Hermosura added 19 points and nine digs for the Blue Eagles, while first-year middle blocker Donna de Leon scored 15 points, 11 of which came in the first two sets.</p><div><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YcbajegAapo?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
