The Ateneo de Manila University product posted a game-high 21 points on 18 attacks and three aces as Nxled stunned the Petro Gazz Angels, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 25-15, 15-10, during their Saturday night faceoff at the Batangas City Sports Center. De Guzman’s production is the best performance by a rookie in the PVL on Tour so far, and it helped their cause as they took down the All-Filipino Conference champions albeit sans Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips. Aside from de Guzman, EJ Carino showed out with 12 points on 11 attacks, while Chiara May Permentilla followed with 10. The Chameleons’ advantages in the setting (25-21) and reception (35-21) departments allowed them to seal their win, helping them come back from being down two sets to one earlier in the game. With these numbers, Nxled tallied its 12th franchise win in 32 games, or since joining the league during the 2023 2nd AFC. On the other hand, Myla Pablo led the Angels with 16 points, while Nicole Tiamzon and Jonah Sabete provided help by putting up 15 and 14 markers, respectively. Petro Gazz will look to bounce back when they face the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at the same venue, while Nxled will be looking to maintain its momentum against the Choco Much Flying Titans in the 6:30 p.m. main offering.</div>
