PVL Media</div>MANILA -- The Cignal HD Spikers are off to a strong start in the PVL on Tour, sweeping the Akari Chargers on Sunday afternoon at the Chavit Coliseum in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.Behind a strong effort from newcomer Erika Santos, the HD Spikers claimed a 25-23, 25-14, 25-23 triumph.Santos, who joined Cignal from PLDT in May, had a team-best 14 points, all on kills, while the comebacking Tin Tiamzon added 11 points.The HD Spikers unloaded 50 kills against just 36 for the Chargers, with Gel Cayuna credited with 21 excellent sets in the win. They also committed just 16 errors compared to 20 for Akari.Meanwhile, Eli Soyud had 12 points and Grethcel Soltones added 11 for the Chargers, who struggled to convert against the active floor defense of the HD Spikers. Both teams are back in action on Monday, with Cignal playing Capital1 and Akari taking on the Creamline Cool Smashers. Both games are still at the Chavit Coliseum.
