The Lady Spikers fell short of extending their tournament lives after they were swept by the Lady Bulldogs on Wednesday, with Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Vange Alinsug, and the rest of the Lady Bulldogs flexing their championship pedigree to clinch the crown.

Angel Canino had a decent 12-point, 15-reception performance on top of nine digs to lead the Taft-based spikers, while Shevana Laput and Amie Provido followed with 10 and seven points, respectively.

But no other Lady Spiker finished with more than four points aside from the troika, with graduating open hitter Alleiah Malaluan limited to four points and Lilay del Castillo adding just three.

Just as they have been after their losses earlier in the season, no words were heard from the Lady Spikers anew as they exited the Mall of Asia Arena.

Not even the graduating Lady Spikers -- Malaluan, Jules Tolentino, Jyne Soreño, and Jessa Ordiales -- uttered a word as the Ramil de Jesus-mentored team respectfully begged off from interviews.

However, while La Salle was mum after the loss, they were greeted with loud cheers from their supporters upon leaving the venue.

Canino and some of the Lady Spikers even joined the DLSU Animo Squad in a quick dance before they went on to attend to their other supporters later on.

And while La Salle fell short of earning their first title since they defeated NU in Season 85, its silver finish this year was still a step forward as the Lady Spikers had settled for bronze in Season 86.
