MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle University stalwarts Kim Kianna Dy, Fifi Sharma, and Jolina dela Cruz know how strong National University is.

Despite that, they remain hopeful of the Lady Spikers' chances in the UAAP Season 87 Finals, giving the current team some tips on how they could overcome the defending champion on Thursday in a meet-and-greet organized by the Premier Volleyball League and its health and beauty partner Watsons.

For Dy, they just need to listen to coach Ramil de Jesus and follow his system.

"We all know naman na NU is a strong team and La Salle as well. They just have to give their all, they just have to work as a team and listen to coach Ramil [de Jesus]," said Dy of the PLDT High Speed Hitters.

Dela Cruz echoed the same sentiment, asserting that De Jesus' system will guide them through.

The now-Farm Fresh spiker was part of La Salle's Season 85 team that has beaten NU in the Finals.

"They should remember who they are, kung sino 'yung coach nila, kung sino 'yung mga dumaan kay coach Ramil. 'Yung iba diyan, napagdaanan na rin kung paano mag-champion," said Dela Cruz.

"Lagi nilang tatandaan na 'yung sistema ni coach Ramil, sobrang ganda. ‘Wag nilang sasayangin 'yun."

Sharma, who was also a Season 85 champion with La Salle, said that the Lady Spikers just need to "play their game."

"I think all they have to do is just play their game, stick to the level of their training and just do their best because this is the UAAP Finals. It really demands the best of you," said the Akari middle blocker.

"I guess for them, just play their game. If they’ve been training as hard as they say they are, then they’re gonna win regardless. They just have to prepare mentally and physically."

Looking back, Sharma and Dela Cruz both relished their Season 85 championship as they laid out what spelled the difference during that title run.

"I think the biggest thing that we exercised during that season was our trust within each other. Whatever happened, whatever obstacle came our way, we made sure to just trust each other and to put each other on the right path," said Sharma.

"Siguro 'yung trust sa second stringers din. May mga times din na nagpapalitan ng mga players and sobrang thankful kami na may mga pumapalit sa’min na talagang reliable. Sana mangyari din ‘yun sa finals [this year]," said Dela Cruz.
