MANILA, Philippines – Creamline star Jema Galanza said the Cool Smashers' fight for the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference title is not yet over.

Galanza, 28, was finally fielded for Creamline after two games of missing significant PVL action, helping the team return into the match after falling down 0-2 against Petro Gazz in Game 1 of the Finals, Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

But that comeback attempt fell short, as MJ Phillips led the Angels' cause in the fifth set, averting disaster, 25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 15-10.

Galanza said the team is looking forward to resting as they prepare for Game 2 on Thursday.

“May Game 2 pa naman, hindi pa naman huli ang lahat. So magre-rest lang kami tonight and then prepare kami ulit tomorrow [Wednesday] para sa next game,” Galanza said on Tuesday.

The star spiker emphasized the importance of starting strong early in the match.

“Siguro yung kailangan, una pa lang lumaban na kami agad. Kung kaya namin pumuntos ng anim, walo dire-diretso, una pa lang dapat ilaban namin,” Galanza.

Galanza and the rest of the Cool Smashers have one thing in mind — keep their hopes for a five-peat alive.

First serve in Game 2 is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the Big Dome.
