MANILA, Philippines – Petro Gazz will advance to the championship round of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

This, as the Angels completed a clean 3-0 sweep of the semifinals by moving past Akari, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18, on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Before this, the Koji Tsuzurabara-coached squad emerged triumphant over Creamline and Choco Mucho, clinching two pivotal wins.

They will now wait for the result of the second game later in the day between the sister teams of Rebisco.

A win by the Cool Smashers automatically arranges a much-anticipated Petro Gazz-Creamline battle, but Flying Titans are also eager to create a three-way tie at 1-2, where set ratios could play a factor in the rankings.

Akari, for its part, was sent to the bronze medal match as it only holds two points -- lesser than Creamline and Choco Mucho's output.
