MANILA, Philippines – Petro Gazz Angels hope to give Brooke Van Sickle a triumphant conference, Myla Pablo shared on Thursday.

As they finally get a shot at Premier Volleyball League (PVL) glory in the Finals, the Angels hope that they finally make it to the top this time around.

"Siyempre sobrang happy na makapasok sa finals. Actually, for Brooke [Van Sickle] talaga ‘to kasi 'yung last two conferences talaga, grabe yung ginawa niya," Pablo said.

They clinched a spot in the championship round after taking out Akari, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18, completing a clean sweep of the semifinals at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

"Kaya sabi namin sa team building, para kay Brooke 'yung finals na ‘to. Nagtulong-tulong kami na makuha 'yung finals na 'to," Pablo added.

For her part, Van Sickle said she wasn't really shocked that the Angels offer this run to her due to the selflessness of the team.

Van Sickle was grateful to have a chance to be fighting alongside the Angels.

"The thing is, is I'm not very surprised, because they're just wonderful people, and they're selfless, and you know, everyone is just, when I say Petro Gazz is like a family, we are," said Van Sickle.

"And there's no drama, there's no chismis, and all that kind, so it's just, it's awesome to be able to, you know, be able to open up emotionally to them, and be very vulnerable with my team, and just seeing the reaction from it is amazing, just to know that I have, you know, my team's got my back, and at all moments, just like, how I want to be for them," the reigning All-Filipino Conference MVP added.

"So yeah, I hope, I hope it goes well, but we'll see."

Pablo, Van Sickle, and the rest of the Angels though have a gargatuan task of taking down grand slam champion Creamline in the Finals.
