Highlighted by the Alas Pilipinas men’s national team, the country will be the home of 32 squads from September 12 to 25, 2025 as they look to determine the world’s best men’s volleyball squad.

This would be a first for the Philippines in the said sport, but for Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) President Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara, the host nation is more than ready for this historic event.

“All systems are in place,” said Suzara — who was also among the local organizing committee (LOC) leads of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Manila — during the PNVF’s announcement of partnership with the MVP Group of Companies in Pasig on Monday.

“We are just waiting for the government money to be released, because the support of the government eh all-out rin sila,” he furthered. “Private sectors are also supporting, and may mga meetings kami next week with them.”

Ahead of the tournament’s opening ceremonies in September, Suzara shared that there will also be a countdown to further hype the event up.

“We will have a ‘100 Days’ countdown in Araneta from June 10 to 12, and three foreign teams are coming there,” he said. “One from Korea, one from Japan, and Thailand men’s national team.”

Aside from this, some visiting squads will also hold numerous events a week before the official opening of the games.

“There are also ‘Bayanihan Training Camps.’ Poland will come here a week before, Korean team also, and Romania and Tunisia, and some mayors will be hosting them,” Suzara shared.

“Magkakaroon sila ng children’s clinics and other events. But overall, the MOA Arena is ready, their hotels are ready, and things are set.”

Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos are invited and expected to grace the opening ceremonies, and this is in addition to the event which also features K-Pop Group BOYNEXTDOOR.

“Malaking bagay ‘to sa volleyball fans and K-Pop fans,” he said. “Marami nang nagtatanong ng tickets sa opening, but we will decide pa. Pero, ano na lang, pag gising natin, World Championships na.”
