MANILA, Philippines – If there's one thing a Philippine volleyball fan can count on, it's the desire of Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips' desire to represent the country on the international stage with Alas Pilipinas Women.

"We're waiting patiently and hoping. If we could represent the Philippines, that would be awesome. It’s an honorable thing, and also it's a great opportunity," said Van Sickle following the conclusion of their AVC Women's Champions League run.

"If we don’t get our paperwork done in time, I’d love to support the national team from the sidelines in the upcoming international tournaments," Van Sickle said.

Van Sickle believes Alas Women will be "phenomenal" as they participate in three major competitions this year -- the AVC Challenge Cup which is now rebranded to AVC Nations Cup, the Southeast Asian V. League, and the Southeast Asian Games.

"As of right now, we have no idea. It’s kind of up in the air. But even if we don’t end up playing, best of luck to the girls. I hope they stay healthy, and they’re going to do phenomenally. I’m really excited to watch them or even join them. I’m really stoked."
