MANILA, Philippines – Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses hopes American spiker Erica Staunton will be available for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

Staunton is the grand slam-winning import of Creamline in the 2024 Reinforced and Invitational Conferences, and even won Best Outside Hitter award.

The team saw a reunion with the young winger in the AVC Women's Champions League, but their playtime was cut short as they fell to Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima, 15-25, 22-25, 16-25, in the knockout quarterfinal on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Still, Meneses remains optimistic about Staunton as the PVL's import-laced conference looms..

Notably, they also shared the taraflex with Russian spiker Anastasiya Kudryashova and Kazakh middle blocker Anastassiya Kolomoyets.

“Medyo matagal pa kasi 'yung Reinforced, mas marami pang mga choices. Sana makakuha kami ng maganda kung available man 'yung gusto namin, especially Erica [Staunton],” said Meneses. “Makuha [sana] namin si Erica [kung] available siya sa October.”

For now, the Cool Smashers will be shifting their focus to rest and recovery before the actual preparations for the Reinforced tournament.

"Wala pa sa bokabularyo namin ang pagpili ng import. Ang focus lang namin after nitong AVC is makarest talaga ang mga players namin," said Meneses.
