MANILA, Philippines – Petro Gazz import Gia Day was somewhat dissatisfied with her performance despite showing the way for Petro Gazz's 25-8, 25-12, 25-12 triumph over Hong Kong's Hip Hing in the AVC Women's Champions League on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.

Day headlined the Angels' offense with 18 attack points while tallying eight excellent digs and three excellent receptions. But for the American spiker, it wasn't enough as she laid out points of improvement.

For Day, she still could "pass a little bit better" and be more confident on the court.

"I’m a little disappointed with myself today [Tuesday]. I did some messy things that I can clean up, I’m kind of always analyzing each day after and expecting the most out of myself," said Day.

"I think I can, personally, I can pass a little bit better so that we can run our whole offense. I think that’s number one," she said. "Number two, just staying confident because sometimes, I’m really hard on myself so I’ll accept the positivity from my team and not get so down on myself."

"So, I’ll accept the positivity from my team and not get so down on myself. Those are the two main things I’m gonna try my best for next game."

Although, Day was thankful that the team wasn't demanding too much from her, including coach Koji Tsuzurabara.

"They have put no stress on me, no pressure, they’ve made this so much fun so all of the pressure comes from myself," she bared.

"Not outside, not from my team, not even from the coach. He hasn’t said one like demanding team to me, which is to me strange, but I’m so, so thankful for each and every one of them."

Day and the rest of the Angels are bound for a tall order as they take on Chinese powerhouse Beijing Baic Motor next.
