MANILA, Philippines – University of Santo Tomas snapped its three-game skid in UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament.

The Golden Tigresses finally saw daylight after overcoming the Shaina Nitura-led Adamson University, 25-18, 23-25, 22-25, 27-25, 15-8, on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Down two sets to one, Regina Jurado provided the much-needed boost, scoring three unanswered points late in Set 4 to force a rubber set, even after Nitura pushed Adamson to match point at the 25-24 mark.

And then it was all UST in the fifth and final chapter, unleashing a 9-4 fiery start as Jurado and company did not look back.
