MANILA, Philippines – Alyssa Valdez and the rest of the Creamline Cool Smashers hope to show up and give a good fight in the AVC Women's Champions League after absorbing a heartbreaking defeat in the recently concluded 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals.

They were denied a fifth straight PVL crown by the Petro Gazz Angels in the three-game title series.

Armed with the lessons they garnered, Valdez hopes they would bounce back in the continental tilt.

"It's a different tournament for sure. We're playing against international teams — champion teams from different countries but we're just gonna be there, hopefully give them a good fight," said Valdez.

"Hopefully, lahat ng mga learnings namin dito [sa PVL Finals] madala namin do'n [sa AVC]," she added.

As they get exposure in an Asia-level competition, the Ateneo legend wants the team to also absorb all experiences they could get.

"At marami rin kaming matutunan do'n kasi I bet all the veteran will be playing there and we'll learn a lot from there," Valdez concluded.

Creamline managed to max out all three import slots for the tourney, tapping American wing spiker Erica Staunton, Kazakh middle blocker Anastassiya Kolomoyets, and Russian spiker Anastasiya Kudryashova.

First up for the Cool Smashers is the Al Naser Club of Jordan on April 20, Sunday.
