MANILA, Philippines – One of the worst-kept secrets in Philippine volleyball is out.

Bernadeth Pons and Sisi Rondina are making a return to beach volleyball for the upcoming 2025 Southeast Asian Games after focusing their efforts in the past seasons on indoor volleyball.

Pons and Rondina's absence from the wishlist for Alas Pilipinas Women was noticed by keen volleyball fans — and this was the answer.

The Creamline ace shared how motivated they are to reclaim that glory once more.

The "SiPons" duo won the bronze medal in the regional sporting event twice in 2019 and 2022, but couldn't replicate it come 2023 in Cambodia.

Notably, they played with different partners in the latest iteration, with Jovelyn Gonzaga and Dij Rodriguez.

Fueled by hunger for redemption, expect the dynamic duo to give their best this December.

"Personally talaga, medyo disappointed kami sa result namin nung SEA Games kasi nga coming from bronze tapos biglang wala kaming place nung last na SEA Games," said Pons.

"So parang doon pa lang talaga, gusto na namin talaga na bumawi sa darating na SEA Games, so 'yun 'yung bakit gusto pa namin ulit maglaro," she added.

Pons said she's excited to partner again with Rondina.

"Siyempre sobrang happy and sobrang excited na rin kasi parang medyo matagal din eh kasi nung last na SEA Games hindi rin kami 'yung partner and 'yun bumalik kami ng indoor so excited ako sa pagbabalik namin," the Creamline mainstay said.

They will start their training for beach volleyball after the recently concluded 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Unfortunately, their rivals emerged on top in the said tourney, as Akari snatched the bronze medal from Rondina's Choco Mucho, while Petro Gazz claimed the gold at Pons' Creamline's expense.
