MANILA, Philippines – Wilma Salas is back with a Premier Volleyball League squad, but this time it won't be the Petro Gazz Angels.

The Cuban wing spiker will be bolstering the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the AVC Women's Champions League, the team announced in a social media post on Thursday.

"Wilma Salas arrived in the Philippines last night and is set to join the PLDT High Speed Hitters in training and play for the squad in the 1st AVC Women's Champion's League starting April 20," the team stated.

Salas is a volleyball champion here in the Philippines, helping the Angels win the 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference title.

She made a PVL return in the 2024 Reinforced Conference and towed the squad to a sixth place finish.

But this time around, Salas will be wearing a different red-colored jersey as she joins High Speed Hitters for the week-long Asian tourney from April 20-27.

PLDT is the third PVL team to join the AVC contest after the Philippines was granted a slot as host country.

Games will be held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
