ANTIPOLO – Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez said Saturday that the Cool Smashers need to move forward from their semis-opening loss against Petro Gazz in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

The Cool Smashers now see their bid for a five-peat in danger, as another loss this round would dim their chances of advancing to the championship series.

Valdez relayed what the Creamline coaching staff told them, convincing the team to "move forward" and "focus on the next."

"Definitely it was a tough loss. I guess it's not the ideal way to start the semifinals, but the coaches reminded us that it happened already. We have to let it go kasi importante na 'yung mga next games namin," said Valdez.

"So as much as we want to dwell on it, we have to move forward and focus on the next game," said Valdez.

The Ateneo great said the mood in the dugout was quiet as everyone was "taking it in."

"Definitely, it wasn't the happy-happy na Cool Smashers but I think everyone was taking it in, trying to leave everything that happened here in Ynares and move forward," she said.

"Very quiet, but sila coach kasi reminded us na if we stay like this kami rin 'yung maapektuhan talaga. So siya rin 'yung nagsabi na iwan na natin dito, move forward, and focus sa training," she went on.

Valdez was a bright spot for the pink-and-white jersey, as she listed a triple-double of 10 points, 10 digs, and 10 receptions in the 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 16-25 loss to the Angels.

Creamline will be battling Akari on Tuesday, which came from a five-set shocker against their sister team, Choco Mucho, also on Saturday.

First serve is at 4 p.m. at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
