ANTIPOLO – Jonah Sabete made an immediate impact in her return for Petro Gazz.

Sabete, who was sidelined for two months due to a minor injury, immediately made her presence felt in the Angels' 25-19, 25-13, 28-26 series-tying triumph over Zus Coffee in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Quarterfinals, Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The 30-year-old opposite spiker produced 11 points, helping their aces Brooke Van Sickle and Myla Pablo complete the win to push the series to the limit.

The product of Bulacan State University said that she's happy to finally see PVL action again while acknowledging the pressure of delivering the goods.

"Actually, I’m happy na nakabalik pa rin ako pero 'yung pressure andoon din talaga," Sabete expressed. "Pressure pero sinasabi ko lang sa sarili ko na ang daming nagtitiwala sa akin like sa defense and pasa."

Sabete was also proud to see her teammates step up as they seek redemption from a quarterfinal exit in the 2024 Reinforce Conference.

"Sobrang ano [proud] ako sa kanila. Like from nakaraan na-eliminate kami sa quarterfinals, 'di ba? Siyempre, happy na kahit wala ako, andoon pa rin ‘yung aggressiveness ng team na makaangat talaga."

Sabete and company aim to finally clinch a spot in the semis on Tuesday as they tackle the Thunderbelles for the last time this conference at PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

First serve is at 6 p.m.
