The reigning champions did so after they reasserted their mastery of University of Santo Tomas, 23-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9, during their Season 86 Finals rematch on Sunday in front of 12,790 fans at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

The Lady Bulldogs tallied their seventh straight victory in as many games, and Alyssa Solomon made this possible by putting up 24 points which was built on 21 attacks and three blocks, as well as seven digs.

Bella Belen also stepped up for the Jhocson-based hitters, putting up 19 markers, 17 digs, and 15 receptions, Vange Alinsug put up 17 markers with 10 digs and seven receptions, while Lams Lamina displayed admirable playmaking by tossing 33 of NU’s 35 excellent sets.

Despite putting up 14 more errors than UST, 36-22, National U was still able to dominate the contest by scoring 71 attack points to the Tigresses’ 44.

On the other hand, Reg Jurado delivered 16 points, 16 digs, and nine receptions, and Angge Poyos followed with 13 markers, 15 receptions, and 10 digs, but these weren’t enough as they saw their five-game win streak come to an end.
