MANILA, Philippines – Coming from a two-week rest, Choco Mucho showed no signs of rust as it repulsed Akari in four sets, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-15, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

This marked the Flying Titans fourth win in a row, improving to a 6-3 win-loss card. Meanwhile, the Chargers moved down to 5-5 slate.

Choco Mucho star Sisi Rondina led the team's firepower, nabbing 18 points on 17 attacks and a block including nine excellent digs, while Dindin Santiago-Manabat was also in double-digit scoring by adding 12 points. Veteran setter Deanna Wong steered their offense, listing 11 excellent sets.

Akari hitter Ivy Lacsina was a bright spot for the losing side with 18 points. Faith Nisperos also had 13 points, while Fifi Sharma contributed 10 markers on five blocks.

Set 3 proved pivotal for the "ube girls" as they hacked out a close 25-23 set win. The latter part of that frame saw exchange in points from both sides, but Akari's Eli Soyud suffered an unfortunate service error while Cams Victoria's attack went wide from the 23-all count, virtually gifting the 2-1 lead to the Flying Titans.

The Dante Alinsunurin-coached squad went berserk in the next set, which turned out to be the final one, as it cruised to a 16-8 lead and never looked back.

Choco Mucho has an opportunity to get its fifth straight triumph against Nxled on Thursday, February 13, while a bounce-back win would be on the Chargers' mind versus Cignal HD on Feb. 18.
