Wedding bells will be ringing on two separate days as sports couple Michele Gumabao and Aldo Panlilio gear up for a double wedding day expected in February and March this year.

The two got engaged in late 2024.

In an interview at the Miss Universe Philippines-Quezon City coronation night, Gumabao expressed her excitement about the upcoming ceremonies while acknowledging the challenge of planning amid her demanding volleyball season.

“I’m really excited, but things are hectic because we’re in the middle of the season. I want to share the celebration with my teammates but not take away the focus from our tournament,” the Creamline Coolsmasher star said.

While details about the weddings remain private, the volleyball standout confirmed that the two ceremonies will have distinct themes.

“Aldo and I have two celebrations, so two very different weddings,” she shared.

Despite her upcoming nuptials, Gumabao remains committed to her volleyball career as she reassured fans that she will continue playing even after marriage.

“I’m in contract for all of 2025, and I still plan to continue my career for a few more years," she said.

When asked about starting a family, she emphasized that while she and Panlilio hope to have children in the future, her focus remains on competing.

“Not in the near future—I still want to play,” Gumabao said.

Aside from being an athlete, Gumabao is also known for her accomplishments in the pageant world.

She was Miss Universe Philippines-Quezon City in 2020 and finished in the top 5.

When asked how she balances both roles, she likened herself to a real-life Hannah Montana.

“I love doing both, but it’s more comfortable in rubber shoes. Volleyball still has the edge,” Gumabao expressed.

As the wedding dates draw closer, the couple continues to focus on their respective careers while preparing for married life.

“I have a strong personality, but I’m very caring. I make sure everything is organized — food, people, everything. Aldo will definitely be well taken care of,” she expressed.

For now, Gumabao remains focused on leading Creamline through a stellar season. The team is currently undefeated at 7-0.

“We constantly remind ourselves that we are blessed to play this sport. It’s all about teamwork, hard work, and support from our coaches, management, and fans,” she said.
