PVL Media Bureau</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATED) </strong>— The newest Premier Volleyball League (PVL) conference is fast approaching.</p><p>The 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference will kick off on October 7, promising high-quality women&#x27;s volleyball play featuring 12 professional teams.</p><p>In a press launch on Thursday at the Discovery Suites in Pasig, PVL president Ricky Palou expressed his excitement for yet another action-packed conference.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/10/2/pvl-jia-de-guzman-out-for-creamline-in-reinforced-conference-1409"><strong>READ: PVL: Jia de Guzman out for Creamline in Reinforced Conference<br/></strong></a></div><p>“We’re looking forward to a very exciting conference,” said Palou. “It’s going to be more competitive than usual because it’s Reinforced – we still have to see the caliber and skills of the imports. Whoever wins the championship, it’s anybody’s game.”</p><p>The import-laced tourney will wrap up by the end of November to give way for the Philippines&#x27; upcoming campaign at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/10/2/bella-belen-looks-forward-to-facing-ex-nu-teammates-erin-pangilinan-sheena-toring-in-pvl-1613"><strong>READ: Bella Belen looks forward to facing ex-NU teammates Erin Pangilinan, Sheena Toring in PVL</strong></a></div><p>All teams have retooled their arsenals, parading imports all eager to contribute to their respective clubs.</p><p>Defending champion Creamline starts a redemption tour after settling for bronze medals in two recent tournaments, eyeing to bounce back with American spiker Courtney Schwan.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/10/2/pvl-pldt-not-focusing-on-title-winning-runs-returns-to-day-by-day-mindset-says-ricafort-1629"><strong>READ: PVL: PLDT not focusing on title-winning runs, returns to &#x27;day-by-day&#x27; mindset, says Ricafort<br/></strong></a></div><p>PLDT will try to win three straight titles, with Russian ace Anastasiia Bavykina leading the charge for the High Speed Hitters.</p><p>Galeries will lean on the shoulders of former Chery Tiggo import Jelena Cvijovic of Montenegro, Nxled will be spearheaded by Spanish standout Paola Martinez Vela, Akari has  American Annie Mitchem, while Capital1 seeks greater heights with Ukrainian Oleksandra Bytsenko at the helm.</p><p>Chery Tiggo tapped Cuban veteran Yunieska Robles Batista, Choco Mucho will be led by former Nakhon Ratchasima player, American spiker Anyse Marlee Smith, Cignal has Greek hitter Eva Chantava, Farm Fresh will have Belgian Helene Rousseaux at its disposal, and Zus Coffee will have Anna DeBeer as its reinforcement.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>--TOURNAMENT FORMAT--</strong></div><p>The League will use its streamlined Reinforced Conference format: the 12 participating teams are divided into two pools, playing a single round-robin within their groups. </p><p>The top three teams from each pool will advance to the second round and face off only against the bottom three squads from the opposite group.</p><p>Rankings will follow the FIVB classification system: total wins, match points, set ratio, and point ratio.</p><p>At the end of the second round, all 12 teams will be re-ranked from 1 to 12. The bottom four will be eliminated, and the top eight will advance to the quarterfinals, which will follow a 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5 knockout format. The semifinals, championship, and bronze medal matches will also be one-game, do-or-die encounters.</p>
