MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – A day after claiming a special citation for its Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Grand Slam feat, Creamline emerged victorious once more.

The Cool Smashers, after accepting a nod at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Awards Night on Monday at The Manila Hotel, reminded the league who they are by thwarting cellar dweller Nxled in straight sets, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference, Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

This marked the defending champions' sixth straight win in as many matches in the ongoing tourney, securing the top spot of the rankings with 17 points, while the Chameleons remained luckless in eight games.

In a fitting finish, Creamline closed out the volleyball clinic with a 10-1 run in Set 3, overturning a 15-18 deficit, capped by a powerful attack by Tots Carlos in the middle.

Coach Sherwin Meneses was satisfied to see his players — whoever steps foot on the taraflex — deliver what's needed from them.

"Siyempre, masaya kami at 'yung mga players nagde-deliver lagi 'pag pinapasok sila. Siyempre magagamit namin [iyon] sa mga future games namin na makalaro lahat ng players namin, so siguro blessing lang din 'yung—sa Creamline 'yung talagang manalo ng maganda," he said.

Setter Kyle Negrito pulled the strings for the Cool Smashers, enabling the offense with 15 excellent sets, while the MVP duo of Carlos and Bernadeth Pons found their ways on the top of scoring by putting up 13 and 10, respectively.

Pons, known for her defense, also had 12 excellent digs, while captain Alyssa Valdez also made her presence felt with seven excellent digs and seven points.

No player from the green and white jerseys listed twin-digit scoring in the one-hour, 35-minute match. Jaycel delos Reyes had seven points, leading the scoring for the skidding side.

For their next game, the Cool Smashers will put their pristine slate at stake against fellow powerhouse Cignal, while the Chameleons will have a chance to enter the win column as they face Galeries.
