MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Choco Mucho is on a roll.

The Flying Titans have extended their winning streak to three by beating PLDT, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18, in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Dante Alinsunurin-coached squad saw itself improve to 5-3 and grab solo fourth place, while the High Speed Hitters absorbed the hiccup, moving down to 4-3.

Alinsunurin was quick to think of ailing Kat Tolentino, who recently suffered a ruptured appendix, during the postgame press conference. She will be missing a significant amount of playing time for Choco Mucho.

"Una, siyempre, 'yung pagkapanalo namin, inaalay namin kay Kat. Nagre-recover na siya ngayon, para mabilis 'yung pag-recover niya at makasama ulit namin," he said.

The always-amazing Sisi Rondina, dubbed as the "Cherry Bomb," exploded for 20 points anchored on 19 attacks and one ace, and made her presence felt on the defense with 10 excellent receptions.

But for the University of Santo Tomas product, her superb performance was all listening to the coaching staff.

"‘Yung ginawa namin sa laro kanina para makuha ‘tong maganda resulta, nakinig lang kami, sumunod lang kami sa mga coaches namin," said the high-flying 5-foot-6 spiker.

The difference in this match was Rondina had support, while PLDT lacked secondary options, especially in the offense, despite Savi Davison doing what was expected of her.

Davison poured in a massive 27 points, the highest scoring output in the game, but for the losing cause.

Rondina's teammates — Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Cherry Nunag, Isa Molde and even rookie Lorraine Pecana — were there as the supporting cast.

Santiago-Manabat tallied 16, Nunag and Molde delivered 12 each, and Pecana had five in a group which had top options for firepower.

The Flying Titans also amassed a decent number of points from the High Speed Hitters' errors, gaining 31 points from those.

Holding a 2-1 set lead in the fourth frame, the Choco Mucho side uncorked an 8-1 run from the 17-all deadlock to close out the two-hour, seven-minute match off hits from Rondina, Nunag, and Santiago-Manabat.
