MANILA, Philippines – Kat Tolentino was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and had to undergo surgery, her Premier Volleyball League (PVL) team, Choco Mucho, said Tuesday.

In a statement, the Flying Titans revealed that yesterday, January 20, she experienced severe abdominal pains, prompting her to be hospitalized.

"Today she was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and had to undergo surgery this afternoon. She is resting now. Let's all pray for her quick and full recovery," Choco Mucho said.

On top of this, in November 2024, Tolentino revealed that she has yet to recover from an auditory condition she acquired earlier that year.

The opposite spiker has been pivotal in Choco Mucho's campaign in the ongoing 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

She has, so far, contributed a total of 79 points on 56 attacks, 19 blocks, and four service aces while making her presence felt at the defense with 40 digs.

Tolentino helped Choco Mucho clinch four wins as they try to replicate—if not surpass—their output in the last two all-Pinoy contests.
