MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Creamline started the year on a positive note.

The Cool Smashers did not show any rust from the holiday break, tallying their fifth win in as many games after sweeping Capital1, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The game also saw ace spiker Tots Carlos return. She made an immediate impact, reaching double digits with 10 anchored mostly on attacks.

Before this, her last played match was when Creamline reasserted mastery over Akari in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

"Of course, we’re happy and grateful na kahit wala kami, nandiyan ‘yung mga teammates and coaches namin na sumusuporta samin. They’re very generous enough for giving me time to really take my time na mag-recover," she said.

Fellow star spiker Jema Galanza joined Carlos in the twin-digit territory as she tallied a game high 12 points on 10 attacks and two aces, to go along with 10 excellent digs and five excellent receptions.

Playmaker Kyle Negrito made the offense possible by listing 14 excellent sets, while "The Phenom" Alyssa Valdez also put up seven points.

"Definitely, it’s a huge confidence-booster for all of us kasi knowing everyone would deliver and step up every single game, every situation na binibigay sa amin," the Creamline superstar said.

Meanwhile, Trisha Genesis, who recently joined Capital1, was a silver lining for the losing squad despite dropping to 1-5. The newest Solar Spiker dropped a team-high 10 points on nine attacks and an ace.

Creamline puts its unbeaten streak on the line when it tackles Nxled, slated exactly next week, January 28, at the same Pasig venue. Genesis and company have a chance to bounce back in an earlier game date as they face rising Zus Coffee on January 25.
