PVL Media</div>MANILA -- The Savouge Spin Doctors have made quite the statement in the 2024 Spikers&#x27; Turf Invitational Conference, where they have qualified for the semifinals.Throughout their campaign, the Spin Doctors have stayed true to their principles -- fostering inclusivity in volleyball while promoting a safe space for queer athletes.The team is composed mostly of members of the LGBTQ, led by Sydney Calderon, a volleyball enthusiast and successful owner of a top aesthetic center.&quot;I wanted to give LGBTQ+ players the chance they deserve, opportunities often denied by traditional teams,&quot; said Calderon, who sees her team as a platform for change.&quot;I want them to realize that playing with purpose is as important as winning. It’s about breaking stereotypes and proving that their gender identity doesn’t define their skill set,&quot; she added.Savouge has shown in the elimination round that they can keep up with the league&#x27;s powerhouse clubs as well as overcome adversity.They opened the conference with four straight wins -- including a five-set triumph over Cignal HD -- before suffering back-to-back defeats.
