MANILA, Philippines – Volleyball players Kim Kianna Dy and Jolina dela Cruz shared Tuesday how their boyfriends, basketball athletes Dwight Ramos and Ralph Cu, inspire them on their road to full recovery.

Both ex-F2 stars were sidelined for a while now due to their knee injuries and have yet to debut for their respective teams.

After their Cargo Movers era, Dy joined PLDT, while Dela Cruz signed with Farm Fresh.

"He [Dwight Ramos] is one of the persons na nagpu-push talaga sa’ kin na kaya ko, na I can do stuff that I feel like I can’t do," said Dy during PVL's signing with a healthcare company at the PhilSports Arena.

Dy said as a fellow athlete, Ramos could understand what she's going through. He also recently rode the bench during Gilas Pilipinas' bout against Hong Kong on Sunday in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers due to a strained calf.

"It’s really good that he understands what I’m going through also. Siya rin na-injure so we’re helping each other get back," Dy added.

Dela Cruz, for her part, said Cu constantly reminds her to power through as she endures the unfortunate setback.

"Kay Ralph [Cu] naman, lagi naman niya ako nire-remind na tuloy lang. Sayang 'yung progress [kung] hihinto pa kami and malapit na rin eh," said Dela Cruz.

"Ang sinasabi lang din ni Ralph palagi na 'babalik ka din sa dati or baka mas okay pa so mas isipin mo na lang 'yun.' Basta pinu-push naman nila kami palagi na mas mag-improve pa talaga," she added.
