But Eala immediately answered from the baseline to level at 1-1. In a tense third game, Eala earned four break points, only for Tauson to escape with clutch first serves to hold 2-1. Eala then settled in, unleashing her trademark groundstrokes to hold easily for 2-2.</p><p>The Filipina broke through in the fifth game with superb returns and aggressive baseline hitting, then consolidated for a 4-2 lead. But Eala refused to fold. With the crowd behind her, she stormed back to 5-5, then held serve for a 6-5 advantage.
