MANILA -- The Philippines has secured promotion to Group III of the Davis Cup.This, after a dominant 2-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan in their playoff tie at the 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group 4 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.Eric Jr. Olivarez got the Filipinos off to a flying start with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 win over Kyrgyzstan&#x27;s Kirill Kistanov in the first singles rubber.AJ Lim followed it up with a steady performance against Ilgiz Kamchibekov, taking the second singles match 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the tie for the Philippines.With the outcome already decided, the scheduled doubles match between Francis Casey Alcantara and Ruben Gonzales of the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan&#x27;s Erbol Eldiyar Uulu and Kistanov was no longer played.These results gave the Philippines a flawless record in their 2025 campaign. The win secures the Philippines a spot in Group 3 of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone for the 2026 season.
