MANILA -- IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu will be hosting more than 2,000 athletes from more than 40 countries as it takes place on August 10, 2025, at The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by IRONMAN, a premier endurance sports brand, and township developer Megaworld to formalize their hosting of the said athletic event.

The venue will be set against the pristine backdrop of Mactan’s coastal waters and historical landmarks, which is also seen to significantly boost local tourism and the economy by filling hotels, supporting restaurants and transport operators, and creating opportunities for small businesses in Lapu-Lapu City and nearby towns.

The race previously earned the title of Best Spectator Race in the World in 2018.
