MANILA -- Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao expects another challenging outing for Carlo "The Bull" Bumina-ang when the heavy hitter returns to action in a few days.

"The Bull" aims for his second straight win on the ONE Championship main roster when he faces Mauro Mastromarini in bantamweight MMA action at ONE Fight Night 30 this Saturday, April 5, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bumina-ang will welcome the Argentinian to ONE Championship with the latter bringing a 17-4 record, with 14 victories coming by way of finish.

That's why Sangiao harbors no illusions that it will be an easy weekend for them, but he remains confident that Bumina-ang will overcome this test.

"Carlo's opponent is no joke. He's a very good grappler," Sangiao said.

"His opponent is pretty good on the ground. He went to Brazil to train for this fight, but I saw that he was merely focusing on his striking to match up with Carlo's. I do believe that Carlo's ready wherever the fight ends up, be it a wrestling grind or a striking matchup."

Sangiao believes Mastromarini will take a page from Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu's playbook and try to grind out Bumina-ang for the entire bout. The veteran mentor is confident that his student is ready for that approach this time around should the fight head in that direction.

Having seen how "The Bull" diligently worked on his ground game and grappling after losing to Baatarkhuu, Sangiao doesn't expect Bumina-ang to fall into the same trap again.

"Carlo's weakness was exposed against Baatarkhuu, and I think his opponent will try to use that to his advantage. Now what I want to see is how Carlo is the one turning the tables and controlling people on the ground," he said.

With that said, the soft-spoken head coach anticipates an exciting performance from his fighter this weekend.

"This will be such an exciting match. It's going to be a war. He's got a very good opponent with a very good record. Surely he'll be protecting that, so I expect this to be a really good match," he said.

"But I'm confident that if Carlo doesn't finish it on the feet, he can finish his opponent on the ground."
