MANILA — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) revealed on Thursday special edition stamps commemorating Filipino 2024 Olympic medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas.

The reveal was made during the 2025 National Philatelic Exhibition (NaPEX), which was jointly launched by PHLPost and the Philippine Philatelic Federation Inc. (PPFI) at Lucky Chinatown in Manila.

The stamps featured dynamic images of Yulo, Petecio, and Villegas during their historic wins, and was crafted by PHLPost's in-house artist Jose Antonio Jayme.

While not present at the event itself, two-time Olympic gold medalist Yulo expressed his gratitude through a pre-recorded message and described the tribute as "malaking inspirasyon, malaking karangalan."

Luis Carlos, postmaster general and CEO of PHLPost, said the commemorative stamps share stories  of determination, hard work and national pride.

"We are gathered here to pay tribute to the incredible achievement of our Philippine athletes,” he said.

Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) president Cynthia Carrion recalled her promise to Yulo before his historic wins, saying "when you become an Olympian, the whole Philippines and the whole world will know you."

Carrion joined Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and PHLPost representatives in unveiling the framed displays of the stamps.

“I am deeply grateful to PHLPost for celebrating their achievements in a timeless manner,” PSC Commissioner Olivia Coo said.

PSC Commissioner Walter Torres also emphasized that the sale of each special release stamp helps shape and fund Philippine sports and becomes a way to support thee country's future champions.

The whole sheet of postage stamps are on sale ranging from P100 to P268 and will be available in all PHLPost offices nationwide. The agency also said it is eyeing for the online sale of the stamps.

Postmaster General Carlos revealed that the collection has been underway since last year but they found the perfect opportunity to release it at the said exhibition.

“Their legacy will now be part of history, for us to remember,” PHLPost said, adding that this inspiring collection is now enduring symbols of hope, unity, and national pride.

The 2025 NaPEX celebrates the display of different philatelic collections and designs in the Philippine context from April 23 to 25, 2025, with this year's theme being “Echoes of the past, visions of the future.”
