MANILA — Carlos “Limitless” Alvarez is anticipating a main roster call-up in ONE Championship.

This, after the Team Lakay rising star turned heads on ONE Friday Nights, with the recent one being a 17-second submission win over Seiya Matsuda via a D'arce choke.

It was his fifth win in six fights — with all victories coming from finishes and three from submissions, drawing him closer to a main roster call as well as the USD 100,000 contract.

"I believe I'm close to getting that contract. Of course, I have to do more to impress [ONE CEO] Chatri Sityodtong to get there, so I'll do my best," Alvarez said.

"Maybe I'm two fights. [I think I’m] two wins and two finishes away from getting that contract into the main roster. I believe I'll get there."

Asked how he'll achieve this goal, he believes it's about staying consistent.

Already impressive because of his deep skill set, Alvarez vows to refine his deadly skills — particularly his striking to get the only thing missing from his record — a one-shot knockout win.

As long as he continues to improve and demonstrate this in his matches, Alvarez believes he'll reach his goal.

"At this point, it's all about showing my versatility in the ring. Maybe I have to refine my striking skills more, show that I'm as good standing up and exchanging strikes, and through that maybe get a KO finish," Alvarez said.

"I have to continuously be at my best as I take on better and hungrier fighters at ONE Friday Fights,” he added.
