MANILA -- Three World Cup veterans will not be present when the Philippine women's national football team reports for a training camp in Dubai in April.

Sarina Bolden, Jackie Sawicki, and Quinley Quezada were not called up by head coach Mark Torcaso for the April camp, which includes a pair of friendlies against the United Arab Emirates.

"One suffered a minor injury in the last camp and the other had a reoccurring injury that needed to be monitored over the last few weeks," Torcaso said of the omissions from the 24-player pool.

"We believed it was important for them both to remain at their clubs and continue their rehab in that environment. Unfortunately, Quinley Quezada also was not selected due to injuring her knee in the last camp," he added.

The camp in Dubai -- set for March 31 to April 8 -- is part of the Filipinas' preparation for the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers in late June to July.

They will also host Chinese Taipei in the next FIFA international window on March 26 to June 3.

The Filipinas were drawn into a favorable group in the qualifiers, joining host Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Saudi Arabia in Group G for the matches scheduled for June 23 to July 5.

While his team is the top seed in their group, Torcaso is cautioning against complacency.

"Every team will be pushing hard to get to Australia [for the Women's Asian Cup 2026]," he said. "There will be no easy games, and every team will present their own challenges."

"We will prepare the best way possible heading into the qualifiers, and continue to push ourselves over the coming months to ensure we arrive in Phnom Penh firing on all cylinders."
