MANILA -- The Philippine women's national football team has been drawn into Group G of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, set for late June.

The Filipinas will play host Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Saudi Arabia in the matches scheduled for June 23 to July 5.

At No. 41 in the world, the Filipinas are the highest ranked team in their group. Hong Kong is at No. 80, while Cambodia is at No. 118 and Saudi Arabia is ranked 166th.

The official draw took place on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with 38 teams being divided into eight groups.

Only the group winners will advance to the final tournament that will be held in Australia next year.

Already qualified to the Women's Asian Cup are hosts Australia, as well as the top three teams from the 2022 edition of the tournament: champions China, runner-up South Korea, and third-placer Japan.

In the 2022 Women's Asian Cup in India, the Filipinas made it all the way to the semifinals, in the process punching their ticket to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. They eventually lost to South Korea, 0-2, in the semis.
