Filipino pole vault star EJ Obiena bounced back in spectacular fashion, soaring to a season-best 5.80 meters to clinch gold at the Orlen Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland.

This marked Obiena’s second gold medal of the 2025 indoor season, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s top vaulters.

The World No. 4 outdueled Poland’s Piotr Lisek and Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen, who both cleared 5.70 meters, with Lisek taking silver via countback.

Obiena’s victory comes as a strong redemption after missing the podium in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Now back on top, the Filipino Olympian continues to build momentum in his indoor campaign, eyeing bigger heights as the season progresses.
