MANILA -- Jean Claude Saclag is the latest Filipino fighter to return to action in ONE Championship.

The former Southeast Asian Games gold medalist will gun for a second win in a row when he takes on Indonesia's Fajar in a flyweight MMA bout at ONE Friday Fights 94 on January 17 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Saclag made a sensational debut last year when he dominated Lee Jun Young of South Korea and won via a first round TKO.

A three-time SEA Games gold medalist in kickboxing, Saclag showed off his striking skill set against Lee, connecting on a variety of punches, front kicks, elbows and knees.

However, he will have his hands full against Fajar, who has also won a gold medal in the SEA Games in combat sambo as well as a silver in the Asian Games. The 29-year-old Indonesian last fought in ONE Championship in February 2020, beating Egi Rozten via first-round TKO.

A win for Saclag might bring him closer to claiming a $100,000 contract with ONE Championship.

Saclag is also looking to start the year on a strong note for Team Lakay, after the famed camp endured a rollercoaster 2024.

Saclag gets the ball rolling for Mark Sangiao’s stable next week, while Carlo Bumina-ang -- a graduate of the ONE Friday Fights circuit -- sees action three weeks later at ONE Fight Night 28.

Bumina-ang takes on Song Min Jong in a three-round bantamweight MMA bout on February 8 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
